I only have good things to say and I don't even think that will do it justice. The folks at Recreative Natives are so knowledgeable and passionate, and the plants are very well cared for. My garden is growing prolifically. This is the best nursery in Alabama hands down. 110% worth the trek out.
Wow Recreative Natives is more than a nursery or plant shop it is a full experience. Jessica curated an entire display for us; she heard what we had in mind asked questions about the area we wanted to plant in. The amount of work she puts into creating a space to purchase native flora and mindfulness of her customers desires has made for a must see location. We mentioned that we had an HOA and pets that didn’t prevent us from having a stunning native oasis. You can tell this is more than a business for Jessica she asked design questions that we didn’t even consider, it was amazing how quickly she created a display full of color and textures. The arrangement covered everything, something will be in bloom every season, all are perennials and even a few evergreens. Skip the hour you would wonder around at a big Orange or Blue box store shopping in the dark, drive the beautiful scenic route to Cropwell and go check out Recreative Natives!
We are working on using more native plants in our yard so I've wanted to go to Recreative Natives for a long time. We finally made the trip -- it was a long, but lovely, drive for us. And it was well worth it. Jessica, the owner, took the time to help us explore options for our garden from among the huge variety of plants she grows and carries. I have enough now to keep me busy this spring and summer but I plan on going back in the fall.

What a wonderful resource in Alabama! So worth the drive. There’s a variety of healthy native plants to choose from. I find that most of the plants are much larger than what you would receive if ordering from an online source. This is our second year visiting, and all of our plants from last year are thriving!
