This place has great reviews for service and selection but we must’ve came on the wrong day. Arriving a gentleman was sitting on a tractor and we asked where a specific plant was and he pointed “out that door and down the row to your right.” No other customers were there that needed help so you think he could’ve gotten off the tractor and helped us find them but nope. We walked out to the nursery area to find the walking paths flooded in water. Not just wet but water so deep it would have come over the soles of my shoes. We had to navigate like we were hiking in a river. Another employee came out and acknowledged that “it sure is wet out here” and quickly walked away without offering to help. I found the selection to be lacking in any plant variety but who knows if we were even looking in the right place since no one wanted to assist us. We went to Moon Valley and received excellent customer service and found the plants we wanted…without wading in water. I love small businesses and may give A & P another shot but was disappointed with our first visit.

The prices were great but unfortunately the atmosphere of the place wasn't very welcoming. Came here with my dog who was leashed and sticking close to me majority of the time. One of the cats in the main building was growling while my dog was a few yards away from it which I dont mind as I am a cat owner, its gonna happen bu my dog didnt even acknowledge it then one of the guys there picked the cat up and practically stared us down until we were checked out. I know dogs can misbehave and people don't always know the temperament of another dog but it was a very uncomfortable interaction. Not to mention some customers that were very stingy.
