Looks like this will be another long review... Summary of my visit at French Valley Nursery on 6/8/26. Service: 0 out of 5 Product (tree): 0 out of 5 Pricing: 0 out of 5 (I can never negotiate price with them no matter the quality of the tree or the loyalty I give them in the past) Events that followed to support the ratings (I can only give them a "1" because there is no option for "0"). Read below if interested: Before deciding whether to buy a lime tree from Lowes or Home Depot, I thought I stop by French Valley Nursery since I bought 2 trees and a dragon fruit plant from them in the past. On 6/7/26, the person who usually helped me was not available and I got someone else. Everything was cool in the beginning, and I was able to learn the other girl's name (Lexi?). I wanted a lime tree, and she told me that the tree isn't doing too well that they had to cut it down. She wanted to let me know that regardless of the condition of the tree, the price will be the same. I was like ok, let me look at it and I'll decide if it's worth the price. When I saw the tree, it was roughly 1 foot tall in a big pot. I stared at it. She said that they might've cut it down a little too late. Wrong. I inspected the base of the tree. The thickness is the same size as what I'll find from Home Depot and Lowes. Since I gave them businesses in the past, I asked her how much is it. I was willing to buy. The price she told me was triple the price at Home Depot and Lowes (but both places have healthier trees and taller). I asked if she's willing to come down on the price. She told me that the price is regulated by the state and they cannot lower the price. I told her for the price she gave me I could buy 3 trees from somewhere else. Then she went on and said about the guarantee of CA's grown trees. She said that those who sell the same trees for cheaper (but healthier and taller) might be grown outside of CA. All this made me wonder if I made a bad deal with them in the past for giving them my businesses amounting to more than $600. I have no intention of paying triple the price of what I can get somewhere else. I also intend to verify her statements because something kept nagging at me... Before leaving I decided to ask her about the single cherimoya tree. She asked "Lexi" and was told $199. That tree wasn't doing too well either (because I know someone who grows a lot of cherimoyas trees and are 75% cheaper). Comparing her statements to California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA)... let's just say there's a lot on the website and who knows how long it will take for me to understand it. I decided to have a long discussion with Google AI. Google AI stated that CA does not regulate the price of citrus trees, meaning I was lied to. CA also made it illegal to bring citrus trees into CA. So, another lie. I also used ChatGPT to see if it will give me the same answer and it did. I decided to just get my lime tree from Home Depot (also took the opportunity to ask the lady there about their vendor). Bottom line: French Valley Nursery just lost a loyal customer. For customers who consider going there please be advised. Everything that they tell you, please take it with a grain of salt and do your own research. Do your compare shopping before heading there. What will happen is that you will end up saving hundreds, not just a few dollars (whether they're willing to negotiate, or you go somewhere else, fyi-they never negotiate with me so...)...

Employees were amazing! I didn't catch her name but a female employee greeted us right away, and then walked us around to show us their CA natives. Even stopped by again while we were browsing to let us know about some ceanothus they missed when they first showed us around. The male employee that checked us out was also very friendly. Great plants, great prices! Will be coming back!
Huge selection of exotic trees and plants. Great staff. Affordable prices.
Everyone was very helpful and knowledgeable. They were able to help ne plan out my whole courtyard, and you can't complain about the prices either!
Lexi & Londyn both are very helpful. I’ve made my purchase with their help yesterday and again they work together to help me get my repotting done. Their Customer Service are Excellent. Both of them are very knowledgeable, very helpful and polite and sweet. Their boss is very lucky to have both of them working with him. Employee like that give the nursery a good name I know I’m going to be a permanent customer. I will tell all my friends to come and do their shopping at this nursery.
