Dario's Nursery

We took nearly 12 months, I'm sure at our neighbours' and HOA's displeasure, to research different nurseries and landscape installers, for our front yard. Got multiple quotes and narrowed it down to 3. We drove by installed projects to see how the plants are growing in. The major difference between Dario and others was the design. TIP: pay for the professional's design - it's well worth it. There's hardly much difference when landscape is first planted, but a year or two later, the difference between a concrete contractors and landscape designers starts to show, in how the landscape "works together" and appears natural. We too had one of the trees dry-up; it's not unusual for the plants to be shocked when they're transplanted. After seeing the other reviews, we knew to ask how long it would take to replace it, instead of presuming, and WHY. We agreed to leave the tree planted for 30 days while caring for it - this way the tree had the time to recover before being shocked again when it's taken out. I was there when Dario's team actually removed the tree and replaced it. The tree definitely was not dead, but they swapped it out anyways. (We will plant it in the rear yard in a couple of months!) Dario's team took a four days to finish the job, they said it would take five. Each day, our yard, driveway, and sidewalk were all cleaned and all their tools were removed off the job side. Dario's team did not blast music while working (like some do) - that was respectful of our neighbours who work from home. Since then, Dari has planted another 7 trees for us on the side of our home, and we are now working on the rear yard redesign. Dario isn't the cheapest around, but if you want the job done only once, he's the man to do it. Overall we're pleasantly surprised about how beautiful drought-tolerant landscaping can be, when done right.

both citrus trees I bought had live citrus psyllids overwintering on them, which came out at the first sign of warmth and began to infect and demolish them. it has been a horrible battle to try to save them and dealing with the USDA. the tag on them when delivered both warned that they came from areas quarantined for asian citrus psyllid, which we were not made aware of before we bought them - we were told they were from a different county, which we assumed was to buy trees from areas not affected by the asian citrus psyllids. the avocado tree we bought had brown/black-tipped/crusty leaves with mold spots on the back when it arrived. when I asked about this to the delivery men, they quickly said, "oh, don't worry! It's normal! It's the cold!" Well, it wasn't cold yet, it was barely 60 at night at that time, 70 during the day. The leaves stayed that way until I did some research and pruned them to avoid spread of fungus. the nectarine tree we bought looks good so far. 1 out of 4 (large) trees uninfected is NOT good odds, especially for the price. We've spent SO MANY hours and SO MUCH money trying to fix the problems these trees came with...we greatly regret not putting that energy into researching the right nursery and buying from a great source. We will now be doing all our business with Loui's nursery. They are WAY more knowledgeable and helpful, their prices are good, and their plants are much healthier, which is the most important thing of all. When you get to a nursery and there's only ONE man there, and he's not caring for the plants but wearing a suit, take this as a warning sign - this isn't a good nursery.

Had a few trees planted by this company and one died a few weeks later. The owner, Dario said he guaranteed his work and that he would replace it if it ever died. Ofcourse , he did not! I called and spoke with him several times and he gave me the runaround. He finally set up and 2 appointments to come over and look at it and ofcourse Dario never showed up. I am too upset to even call him again. But I warn others not to do business here, they don't appreciate their customers. there are several nurseries to try instead.

Best place in town to buy plants! rat Variation of selection and have really stepped it up! Call Dario at anytime and he can personally assist you!

They need to take better care of there stuff....everything looked almost dead to dead
