Are these trees we can cut down ourselves or is it a lot of trees already cut and standing in a row like they do in cities?

Hi Heather! All the trees we have for sale are already cut. Since 1947, Julian Christmas Tree Ranch has been selling trees cut local to the San Diego backcountry. White fir naturally grow on family property at Volcan Mtn, so we started a process of only cutting the top of a mature tree, which provides a great christmas tree for that holiday season without killing an entire fir tree. In a few years, the "topped" trees will have sprouted new heads and this keeps the cycle alive, just like the original tree stays alive!

Is there a range of pricing we can expect for a 7' or 8' tree?

It will vary a lot depending on what type of tree and how full it is. You can expect that height to start at $75+, all of our trees are already cut and priced before we put them on display. When you do pick your tree, we'll be happy to hand wrap and load it for you!

Great family run place. Went there withy family around closer to 10am on a Saturday, the week of Thanksgiving. Not many people or waiting, friendly and welcoming family.

Magical Experience at Julian Christmas Tree Ranch! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently had the pleasure of visiting Julian Christmas Tree Ranch, and I cannot recommend it highly enough! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the friendly and welcoming staff who truly made us feel right at home. Their passion for what they do is evident, and they are more than happy to share the ranch's unique story, which adds a special touch to the experience. However, while my overall experience was exceptional, I must mention a rather unfortunate encounter we had during our visit. A rude man in overalls drove up in a flashy Tesla, with his dog in tow. To my disbelief, he allowed his dog to relieve itself on one of the lovely trees! It's disheartening to see such disrespect in a place that thrives on family traditions and the joy of Christmas. This incident aside, I would still encourage everyone to visit Julian Christmas Tree Ranch for the warmth of its staff, the beauty of its trees, and the wonderful memories waiting to be made.

This was my first time at the Christmas tree lot and it’s such a cute spot, with friendly staff. Everyone is knowledgeable of the trees and will gladly tie it to your car, for safety traveling and they have a goat petting area, which the kids loved! Will definitely be coming back!!
