About the Nursery

Historic fruit tree nursery. Top products: fruit trees, ornamental plants. The Luther Burbank Gold Ridge Experiment Farm is a historical site and nursery located in Sebastopol, California, dedicated to preserving the horticultural legacy of famed plant breeder Luther Burbank. Operating on a three-acre remnant of his original experimental grounds, the site functions as both a living museum and a functional plant nursery. The nursery specializes in the propagation and sale of fruit trees and ornamental plants that align with Burbank’s historical horticultural work. Managed by the Western Sonoma County Historical Society, the farm serves as an educational destination for visitors interested in agricultural history and botany. It offers the public access to plant stock developed or championed by Burbank, maintaining the integrity of his experimental methods. The facility caters to homeowners, historical enthusiasts, and local gardeners interested in heirloom varieties and the region's unique agricultural heritage. By maintaining these gardens and nursery operations, the farm provides a direct link to the botanical innovations that shaped Northern California's fruit and plant industries.
