About the Nursery

Seasonal produce and nursery. Top products: Spring plants, Fall mums, Christmas trees, Wreaths and roping, Fresh produce. Killam & Bassette Farmstead, LLC is a historic, family-operated agricultural business located in South Glastonbury, Connecticut, with roots dating back to 1893. While the farmstead functions primarily as a diversified producer of fruits, vegetables, and USDA-certified pork and chicken, they maintain a significant horticultural presence through their seasonal offerings. The farm manages a year-round farm stand that acts as a retail outlet for their own agricultural output and locally sourced artisanal goods. Their horticultural division focuses on seasonal plant sales, which include spring bedding plants, autumn chrysanthemums, and a holiday product line featuring handmade Christmas trees, evergreen wreaths, garlands, and cemetery baskets. The business utilizes a direct-to-consumer model, participating in local farmers markets and managing multiple Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) programs, serving the local South Glastonbury community and surrounding areas.

What can I say? The service was exceptional. I loved the place—clean, with very fresh produce. It's a shame they're an hour from my house, but I would definitely go back and I recommend it. I live in Waterbury, CT

My wife and I love this place! We CSA summer and fall and shop often. Not only is their produce top notch, but they're also a one stop shop for local ethically raised and processed chicken, pork, beef, and dairy! To add icing on the proverbial cake, the staff are friendly and helpful. It's about the real food! Shop the local farms and make the grocery stores send out a wellness check on you. 😅

Friendly service and some good products. But, I stopped for a fresh, healthier, homemade kind of pie, & later, after purchase, realized it was an unhealthier version made in some big pie factory in, or near Hartford.
