Village Green Gardens is a true local gem. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and went above and beyond to help me. The entire process was easy, fair, and pleasant from start to finish. You can really feel the welcoming atmosphere here. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for high-quality products and exceptional customer service.
The Village Green Gardens moved to another spot on the same road, Boston Post Road, also in Guilford. This delightful nursery has expanded and its collection and variety of plants is just wonderful. They have everything you need to care for plants and lawns and I frequent the store on a regular basis. Village Green gardens also has a lot of decorative items for holidays. I'm happy they moved to a larger location and am looking forward to the increased selection. They give great advice too, btw. 😄
I always support local business when I can but like other reviewers have said, the staff can be rude and downright nasty. Today as I purchased my sixth yard of mulch in the last two weeks from them, I went in to pay and my husband drove around back to get the truck loaded. The staff person waiting on me was pleasant but another staff person came running in all upset and a little hysterical because my husband was waiting for the mulch to be loaded but I hadn’t paid yet. Then she had the audacity to call back to the loader to load the next customers compost before mine even though the compost purchaser was still writing out a check. The place wasn’t busy and my husband was all alone back there waiting. This isn’t the first time we’ve encountered rude service at this place. Guess I’ll be leaving Guilford for my gardening supplies from now on. 9/25 I returned back to this place this year to give them another chance. Buying mulch again today, the woman at the register was again obnoxious because my husband was sitting in the running truck (while I paid) near the sign that says line up for loading products. She said he can’t be there. He needs to pull into a parking spot. That’s it for me. The worst customer service!! I’ll go to Van Wilgens from now on. A little further but they’re always friendly.
I was greeted by a very helpful and knowledgeable employee who made my visit to the new garden center location a terrific stop.
