Spencer here from Wilson Bros Gardens. Hope your day is going well and thanks for contacting us.

To answer your question, I wish we could allow visitors on the property, but because we are an online-only nursery and fulfillment center we don't carry the liability insurance necessary to allow anyone but staff members on the property. As well we no longer have the staff or other facilities needed to sell plants on site. This said, in some cases, for larger size orders we allow for scheduled pick-up of orders, however a staff member has to pick and bring the plants to the customers vehicle.

Though we cannot allow customers on our nursery properties, upon request we can use email or phone text to provide plant sizes and photos of any plant on the nursery, which we think is the next best thing to being there. In some cases we can also do live Face Time with customers who have iPhones.

Do you have any big beef tomato plants?

We are an online nursery that ships all of our plants via FedEx and UPS. We don't offer tomato plants because it's too difficult to ship them by mail without the plants suffering serious injury. Thanks for asking though. I'm not sure if any nursery is shipping tomato or vegetable plants by mail these days? Hi - This is one we don't grow at the moment but it's a wonderful variety. I just put it on our "To Grow" list to start growing as soon as possible. That said, it could be a year before we have a 1 gallon size and a couple years for 2 gallon that are ready to ship. I have just purchased a Red Dragon Dwarf Japanese Maple Tree on 3/24/21 and it has some of the little leaves turning brown like spotty on the tree. I was wondering if you could give me a idea what this problem would be? I have some pics.

There retail store closed last year selling off all trees.   They only sell limited items on Internet now for which shipping has been included so not cost effective if you live a few miles away.  To many other retail choices.  Try Site One, Lowes, Home Depot, Pike Nursery.

What kind of tree do you plant to survive the winter and hash summer weather in a planter? Also, plants in front yard that will survive and grow back year after year?

Accepted Answer

Most smaller trees are hardy enough to survive winter/summer with appropriate care and your willingness to repot in sufficiently sized containers as needed.

Perennials are the plants you are looking for that continue to bloom each year. Annuals bloom only once and do not return.

I have purchased 3 native-azaleas and I think 4 encore azaleas and want to plant them in containers permantly, how big do the containers need to be and what kind or type should they be?
