I visited this nursery for the first time today because my husband has always had good luck finding quality soil here at a great price. The store was clean, and the plants appeared to be well cared for. Unfortunately, my checkout experience was very disappointing. There were two cashiers sharing one line, and I was clearly next in line. When one cashier became available, she called on the customer behind me instead of me without acknowledging me or explaining why. I felt overlooked and very embarrassed by the interaction and went back to line to wait for the other cashier. After I got home, I called the store and reported my experience to the manager. I appreciate that they took my complaint, but the incident left me uncomfortable enough that I don't plan to return to this location. I'm sharing my experience in the hope that customer service can be improved. I left feeling that I may have been treated differently because of my race. I can't know the cashier's intent, but the experience made me uncomfortable enough that I won't be returning. There are plenty of other nurseries in town that my husband (and me) will happily patronize.
