With the warmer and dry winter we are having, should I water my new tree that was just planted last summer? If so, how often should I water if we don't get additional snow or rain?

Hi Janice! It's possible that you'll need to water this time of year, but you'll want to check the soil moisture first. We recommend digging down into the soil 4-5 inches and seeing if it's still wet. If it is, you don't need to water. If it's pretty dry, go ahead and water it, but no more than once a week. Be careful not to over water, as that can harm the tree as well. Let us know if you have any other questions!

What is the difference between lilac bush and lilac tree.

They are basically the same thing except for shape. A Lilac tree has been shaped and pruned to resemble a tree. if you plant a Lilac tree be aware, it may still send up shoots from the ground all around that will need to be cut back.

I found some there. Even a different variety.  They are an annual, so they do not come back. They love full sun & can tolerate dry conditions.  It's one of my favorite annuals to plant each spring!!

We do have River Birch! We have both single stem and clump options available in Dura Heat and Heritage. We also have Whitespire, which isn't a river birch specifically, but it is another type of birch.

Do they sell dirt?

Hi Penny,

We do sell bulk dirt. We measure our bulk material by the yard, so two scoops (in the Kubota) equal one yard. One yard is $42.99. Please keep in mind that this is fill dirt, so some parts of it may be clumpy and there are no added nutrients in the fill dirt. If you're looking for something more refined and/or with nutrients, we have bagged goods as well. do you still have water to flowers  Etc. any More

If you have indoor plants, and plants in containers, they will still need to be watered regularly. Depends on the plant as to how often it needs watered. Even plants in the ground will need watered if there are long periods between rain. For instance, flowers like fuscia and impatients will need watered daily whether in pots or in the ground, unless it's raining. Vegetables and fruits are less sensitive, again depending on how you have them planted. Tomatoes in the ground require a lot less water. You water them when you plant them, and if in the ground, you check on them weekly to see if they need watering, if it hasn't rained for a while. But once they are grown, they don't need to be watered that much. If in pots, about once a week should be fine. For more information about the plants you want, definitely ask the people who work at Culver's.
