The business operates a dual-model structure, functioning as both an ecological landscaping service provider and a dedicated native plant nursery. Their horticultural focus centers on the promotion and cultivation of native flora, with a mission oriented toward supporting local pollinators and enhancing urban ecological health. The nursery retail operation offers a diverse selection of native plant materials, including flowering perennials, sedges, grasses, trees, and shrubs, catering to homeowners and property managers interested in sustainable gardening. In addition to plant sales, the co-op provides specialized landscaping services, including the design and installation of RainScapes, RiverSmart, and Rain Check Rebate projects, which utilize native plantings for stormwater management.

I had an exceptional experience with Swamp Rose Coop and highly recommend this business. I have used other native plant garden services and what sets SRC apart is the knowledge and care put into the stewardship of native plant gardens by the entire team of professionals. My yard is an ecologically sensitive slope abutting a watershed with patches of original natives on the property that I maintain in more of a restoration manner than garden-like manner. Cesar and the team were flexible in how they helped me maintain these areas and were willing to take the time to communicate and understand how I wanted each bed to be treated. The commitment to ecological gardening and professionalism of this team is top notch!

Jeff and team's work is spectacular. They listened closely to my request to rebuild my retaining wall, improve drainage away from the rowhome, and install a pocket prairie. Their suggestions were all closely aligned with my aesthetic and capacity for maintenance care. More importantly, they were patient and persistent venders. DC permitting gave me bad advice on the types of permit needed, and failed to alert me to the need for a plan to be approved to avoid harming the historic ginkgos on my street. The Swamp Rose team patiently and independently submitted all necessary materials (after I approved them) in order to successfully adn legally complete the project. I am so grateful for them and look forward to submitting photos as my pocket prairie grows in over time.

I love my garden from Swamp Rose Co-op! My backyard gets very little sun and I am a novice gardener, so I asked for shade-tolerant native plants that would be easy to take care of. The Swamp Rose team designed a beautiful garden and planted it in September 2023. Nearly two years later, my garden is thriving with very little input on my part. The three pictures with fully grown plants were taken just now, with no filtering or edits; even though I went out of town during this week's heat wave, the plants are still doing great! The picture with lots of little plants shows what the garden looked like when it was first planted, so you can see how much everything has grown. I am so grateful to have this oasis of beauty in my backyard. Thank you, Swamp Rose Co-op! (Edited because Google Reviews changed the order of my photos.)
