Skillins Greenhouses

This place is over priced and low quality. Only giving it 2 stars because the people are nice. I bought a yard and a half of 50/50 compost loam mix for my raised bed. It’s absolute garbage. I usually get from Allen & Sterling up the street for the last 12 years and for whatever reason I changed it up. The soil is like cement. It’s like 60% clay. I’ve had to add a ton of peet moss and Pro Mix, way more than usual. My entire first crop didn’t make it. The roots have no where to go. I’ve now spent even more money on fertilizers, something I’ve never had to do other than for tomatoes. I'll never buy anything from here again. Way better quality elsewhere and for much less money in most cases.

Service and plant necessities wonderful

As a business owner and garden designer who has worked with many greenhouses & nurseries since 2021, Skillins now has over 90% of my business. I'm particularly impressed by---and eternally grateful to---their wholesale manager, Dana, who makes my day-to-day life easier. She's organized, responsive, smart, professional and the best I've worked with. I don't have much time during growing season to write reviews, but after working with another wholesale manager at a big nursery a couple hours north of Portland, I felt compelled to sing Skillins' praises. Day and night comparison. I LOVE SKILLINS!!!

Everything is amazing but up charged. You can find nice stuff cheaper elsewhere.
