I shot a beautiful north woods buck on the opening weekend of MN deer season, 2025. That was the easy part. Getting him gutted, out of the woods, and delivered to the processor was a rodeo. Thankfully, I found Kunnari's Greenhouse & Country Meats, which was a short drive from our deer camp. With infinite patience during a super busy weekend, Jack and his wife Mariann helped me place my order. They were up front about the costs and processing time. They even made a special arrangement for me to pick up my deer head before my order was finished (that's a long story). But once the smoked sausages were ready, I met Jack at the locker, I threw two massive boxes in my car, and I was on my way. How did they taste? Awesome. His Italian and Bratwurst recipes are really good. They're not those pencil-thin venison jerky sticks. They're substantial links you'll love cutting up for appetizers, grilling, stirring into soups and stews, putting on pizza, or into sandwiches. I'm an Iowa resident. I learned A LOT in the process (and drove many miles) so I was thankful for Kunnari's professionalism and the care they take with processing my deer. Their prices are very fair, and you know you're supporting a quality family business.
