We always enjoy driving to Pittsboro and make it a point to stop in Country Farm and Home. Lots of horse feed, Bee keepings supplies, gardening supplies, carpentry stuff, a little bit of everything and everyone is more than willing to help. Please support them and help to keep Pittsboro authentic.
This well-stocked local store is the only place we buy the flowers for our yard, buy our fruit trees as well as all the vegetable plantings for our garden. The staff is always so helpful and knowledgeable as well. A+ service every time! *They also sell the most unique planters I have seen around and so much more.

This store is my absolute favorite for carpentry materials(wood) and fencing supplies in the Chapel Hill/Pittsboro area. As a pro carpenter who specializes in building fences, I count on this place for top-notch materials. I’m always working on fences, privacy screens, and boardwalks, and I love using Madison wood and CCA posts whenever I can. These boards are fantastic and true to size. The 1x6x16 pressure-treated Madison wood, available in both pine and poplar, is just fantastic. The poplar has these fantastic designs that make it look a bit like cedar, but it’s way more affordable. I’ve used these boards for all sorts of projects, like chicken coops, privacy screens, fences, and wooden gates and for entrances to farms. Plus, I get all my fencing supplies here because the prices are way better than those big chain stores and even beat Amazon. I usually pick up CCA circle posts, 4x4 CCA posts, metal T-posts, and farm gates. I’ve also built tons of split rail fences with supplies from Country Farm and Home. This store stands out for its excellent products and amazing customer service. Five stars!
