About the Nursery

Annuals and Vegetable Starts Nursery. Top products: annual flowers, vegetable starts, herbs, perennials, pollinator plants. Windsock Gardens is a seasonal plant nursery established in 2003 and operated by Sarah Bradeen in New Hampshire. The greenhouse operation focuses on the propagation of a wide variety of annuals, vegetable starts, herbs, and select perennials. The nursery caters to local gardeners and enthusiasts, offering both common garden staples—such as geraniums, marigolds, and petunias—and a selection of unique or unusual annual varieties like agastache, ptilotus, and mecardonia. A key component of the nursery's offerings is a diverse collection of pollinator-friendly plants, specifically curated to attract hummingbirds, including fuchsias, cupheas, and various salvia cultivars. Beyond ornamental flowers, the business produces vegetable starts, including a range of tomato varieties and hot peppers. The nursery operates on a seasonal schedule from May through mid-July, emphasizing the hands-on cultivation of plants from seeds.

Last summer after buying my plants many other places for yrs,. I was driving down my street and as I passed by Sarahs Windsock Gardens which I have hundreds of times, I decided to stop because I was looking for a specific perrenial. She had them and much more. I for the next few weeks stopped by a few times, bought many flowers some annuals, some perrenisls. All of the plants are doing exceptional. The Marigolds I bought for my daughter bloomed through Oct and what a show. They were beautiful, very healthy, everyone complemented on them even the mail carrier. I will definitely buy my plants there for now on. Thank you for making my gardens beautiful. I will be back next week when you open for 2026.

Parking has expanded. Good prices on vegetables and flowers, staff knows their inventory well. Friendly. Double-check your plant stakes since pots get moved.
