About the Nursery

Japanese Garden Specimen Trees. Top products: Japanese Garden Trees, Specimen Garden Trees, Landscaped Garden Designs. Shin-Boku Nursery is a specialized horticultural business with over 50 years of experience in the cultivation and maintenance of specimen trees, specifically focused on the traditional Japanese garden aesthetic. Located in northern New England, the nursery is defined by its adherence to a 1,500-year-old tradition of Japanese tree trimming, where plants are carefully guided and pruned to create unique, artistic forms. All plant material is selected for extreme winter hardiness, ensuring durability in harsh northern climates. Beyond the retail sale of specimen trees, the nursery operates as a full-service horticultural consultant and landscape design firm. They offer custom design and installation services, working directly with clients to create site-specific Japanese gardens. The business maintains a demonstration 'Stroll Garden' on-site to showcase their mature tree stock and provide design inspiration to homeowners and professional landscapers alike.

Wonderful hidden gem, lovely albeit short walk amongst the evergreen trees which have been very cared for over the decades.

So peaceful and inspiring! This is an amazing place, esp. if you are a gardener and/or appreciate great Japanese garden design and hard work. I highly recommend following the paths through the garden as they are well-thought out, and lead to both spectacular "rooms" and long views. Highly recommended!

Beautiful garden. Very unique and serene place. Also very unexpected in NH and I believe it was the owner we had met while visiting who said it is the largest Japanese garden in North America. I plan to visit again soon!

A beautiful place to visit, with amazing vibes. Very peaceful, with plenty of a great variety of Japan's native trees and bushes. There is also a big selection of Japanese style garden lanterns. The landscape is that of a Japanese garden. I highly recommend all those looking for a place to take a relaxing, meditative walk or to those looking at the idea of building a private Japanese garden in their property.
