About the Nursery

Retail Garden Center Nursery. Top products: flowers, seasonal plants, fresh produce, ornamental greenery. Vera's Marketplace & Garden Center is a multi-generational, family-owned horticultural and retail business located in Cold Spring, New York. Established in 1982 by Vera and Tony Giordano, the business evolved from a farm market into a community staple. The operation features five on-site greenhouses where a wide variety of flowers and seasonal plants are cultivated and sold. Drawing on traditional agricultural practices, the nursery component emphasizes the growth of high-quality ornamental plants. Beyond its horticultural offerings, the business functions as a multifaceted marketplace providing local and organic produce. The business serves local homeowners and regional residents, maintaining a strong focus on community relationships and family-oriented service. While the facility now hosts additional third-party retail partners, the core of the business remains rooted in its longstanding history of greenhouse production and gardening expertise.

It's Garrison, yes everything is a billion dollars, but the doughnuts are next level and they have fancy pants cheese and such. Recommended.

The staff was nice. I was shocked by the pricing of everything. At least on the side with fruit and vegetables, everything seemed to cost about 3x to 4x as much as I would normally pay (including other farmer’s markets). This was the first time I’ve ever paid $12.99 for a medium sized bag of grapes (just under 2 lbs) in my life. For that reason, I can’t justify shopping there again. It was a last-minute stop to grab fruit for a friend I was visiting nearby, but I will have to plan my trip accordingly next time I am in the area.

They have the best apple cider doughnuts I have ever had. Most of them seem to be dry and dense when they aren't hot. BUT not these they are so light and have moisture in them. I will most definitely be getting more of them from here.

Every season, I drive two hours to get 2 boxes of apple cider donuts. Only one box makes it back safely.
