About the Nursery

Full-service retail garden center. Top products: Perennial plants, Fresh Christmas trees, Garden seeds, Shrubs and ornamental plants. Adams Fairacre Farms is a multi-generational, Hudson Valley-based business that operates as a hybrid of a gourmet grocery store and a comprehensive retail garden center. While the company maintains a robust food retail presence, its horticultural division functions as a full-service garden center catering to local homeowners. The garden centers provide a diverse inventory of ornamental plants, perennials, shrubs, and seasonal stock. Beyond retail plant sales, they offer horticultural expertise through educational blog content, advice on seed starting, and native plant recommendations designed to support local ecosystems and wildlife. Their garden operations are highly seasonal, featuring extensive Christmas tree sales and holiday decor during winter months, and comprehensive gardening supplies for spring and summer planting seasons. They serve as a primary destination for residential gardeners looking to source both ornamental varieties and materials for home vegetable cultivation, effectively integrating agricultural roots with modern retail convenience.

Edit- I have discovered that hannafords has all of things that kept me prisoner at Adams, and then some..for one thay carry Vital Farms eggs..not only that, they have Bread Alone bread. Fresh lobsters. They sell variety packs of hot chili peppers..ok..they can't compete with the cheese department..but overall, the quality is better. The management isnt some nepotized inept person pretending to know what theyre doing..its really a shame..the other Adams stores are wonderful. I live 2 mi utes away from here so I've made every effort.. Update...gave yet another try! I bought leeks and scallions from Adams ( local farm?) and ended up throwing all of them away in my compost pile. Both had tough, solid centers that made them unpleasant to use. For a store with a reputation for high-quality produce, this was a disappointing purchase, especially considering the cost. I expected better quality and freshness from a produce department that is often highly praised. This place is horrible now( not that it was good before)..no fresh thyme Thanksgiving week, no local cream, the new configuration is ridiculous. Unorganized.. "homemade" pasta full of anti-caking agents and crap..I just cant anymore..this store has been floating along on a reputation that they don't deserve...the fish is rotten, the produce quality is awful,( minus the tiny local section) I will always ador the other locations, kingson, and poughkeepsie in particular. Need I mention the aroma of fake butter popcorn? Disgusting..and everyone I know agrees! This store is a a façade. The whole farmstead theme is a racket..nothing here is wholesome..everything store made is loaded with trans fats, preservatives, and junk. No real bread..i could go on. Below is a photo of pasured eggs from vital farms which are the gold standard, with a gorgeous orange yolk, indicative of a healthy diet, beside it the pallid anemic yolk from hidden nest pastured eggs..theres a reason customers request these things..all of the crappy eggs you want, but not one decent brand.

I can always depend on Adam's to get my order right and have it ready quickly. The food is always good quality. I placed a pick up order yesterday, knowing I would not have a time slot until late afternoon. They still had the order ready in an hour, so I was able to pick up sooner. When I got there I was surprised at how crowded the parking lot was for a Tuesday. But no matter, my order was waiting for me.

They must train their employees to have more respect for each other and costumers. Overall rude and petty behavior from the majority of the employees. Do better.
