Be very careful dealing with Hillcrest Garden Center. I called about getting our pre-lit tree repaired. On the phone I was told it started at $20 and went up from there depending on how extensive the repair was, but that the associate I was speaking to had never seen one over $100. My son dropped off the tree and the manager told him that it would be $75-$100 PER SECTION. We had 4 sections, so at the most it should have been $400 (which honestly if I knew this I would have just said forget it, but that is miscommunication between my son and I - but I should have been told that on the phone to begin with). When I went to pick up the tree my total was $592.96!!! What happened to $400? He said that it was because they had to order bulbs - no one told us the bulbs were extra either! I was shocked that at no point did anyone call me and explain that it was going to be an extensive repair and was I sure that I understood the pricing - as I could (and should) have just gotten a brand new tree. I called to speak to the manager and he really couldn't have cared less. He took no responsibility for his or his staff's miscommunication and was uninterested in our conversation and was rude. We landscaped our entire yard with Hillcrest - but lesson learned, we will never deal with them again. Editing to respond to owner: This reply shows your dishonesty. You did NOT tell us bulbs would be extra and you absolutely charged us more than what you paid for bulbs because the name of your distributor was on the box of extra bulbs you gave us and we called them to get a price. The price they gave us was $50 less than what you charged us, they offered us free shipping plus a 10% discount as well. No matter what, the price you gave us was nowhere near what you charged and you didn't care at all to apologize or take any responsibility. Instead you were rude and dismissive.

Love this peaceful, beautiful nursery. Also a great place to get your bird seed needs and don’t forget their Christmas shop.

I bought 2 lovely trees, however the transaction was not very professional or friendly. It was never mentioned that there was a hefty labor charge and 3 months later I am suddenly billed. Go somewhere else for big purchases. I am no longer a fan or customer.

They always have a decent selection to choose from. They are helpful and friendly too.
