I've been a regular customer at Canterbury Creek Gardens and I can honestly say it is one of my favorite places to shop for plants. Ron and Barb are incredibly knowledgeable and have taught me a tremendous amount about gardening. They take the time to answer questions, explain why things work, and share their experience. As someone who enjoys learning, I appreciate that more than I can say. The plants are consistently healthy, vigorous, and well cared for. The quality is noticeably better than what I've found at many larger garden centers. When I buy plants here, I have confidence that they're going to thrive. What I value most is that this is a local business run by people who are genuinely passionate about gardening. Their advice has helped me become a better gardener, and their products have never disappointed me. I won't go anywhere else. Highly recommended.

This is the first time since moving to Westlake 6 years ago I went to this place. It kinda looks like a trash heap in someones lawn, but they sell milkweed and i wanted some of that in the garden since monarchs lay eggs only on milkweed. Its a mom and pop shop, and mom is busy so pop helps me. Pop is 175 years old, speaks quieter than my wife, has a bad leg, and loves to talk. so he shows me the milkweed and rambles on about "are ya lookin for monarchs to FEED or to REST" and "yknow these only bloom for a short while" even though I told him I wanted milkweed for monarchs in my yard and i dont care about anything else about them. So we get to the counter and hes like "do you have fertilizer" and i go "yes" and hes like "what kind of fertilizer" and I'm like "oh here we go with the upsell" and I tell him its the junk they sell at Home Depot. He acts all offended and goes on a rant about nutrition and how we (humans, he means) have so many foodborne illnesses from bad nutrition and how this applies to monarchs and plants. I'm silent because the only thing on my mind is "the monarchs are gonna have to figure this one out on their own, I can't solve everything for everyone and every insect" and this was on my way home from work and I would like to spend as much time as possible with my family after being in the office and not have some ancient man lecture me about butterflies needing zinc from the top of the Alps and bonemeal from King Tut's tomb. Still, a solid "3" of an experience. I'm glad I liberated the milkweed and will give them the fertilizer that makes my plants grow big and strong.
