Gossler Farms Nursery

Incredible place to visit, worth the trip. They have an amazing selection of unique varieties. The knowledge, care, and passion everyone has for the plants really shows. Can’t wait to visit again and find something new!

Arrived at their nursery in my Ford Ranger and my service dog with me. There was group of people talking in front of a house. One man noticed me and looked away. Eventually he sent over by the other man and i ask my question and then he goes back to the group. I try to go through the huge greenhouses on my own but walking became so painful and there was no indication what plants were or what they cost. There may be 5 or 6 magnolia trees in pots that were all bare of leaves or flowers and i had no idea what was where. i made it back to my truck and pulled out a camp chair and sat it in it. i watched as the group continued to chat. it was too far to walk now and after about 20 minutes the laughing and chatting ended and the owner finally noticed me. He told the guy before to help me and this guy continued to chat and walked some people to their car, chatted a while more and then started to walk back to the house. I was clearly waiting for him, he was clearly told to help me, and he clearly ignored me. i raised my hand and he grudgingly came over. i asked him if he would help find some plants and he said which ones. I said I could not even begin because none of the plants said what they were or even how much they cost. He said he would get me a catalog and tried to walk away. I said but i don't know where anything is and i can't walk 10 plus large greenhouses. He stood off from me like if he got too close my disability may rub off on him. I was trying very hard not to take this man's behavior personally but I was starting to feel frustrated with his unwillingness to help. We finally discussed one of my objectives and and he pointed to some greenhouse somewhere which had no value because none of the greenhouses were labeled. He gave a list of names of plants in the greenhouses, rhodies are in one he said, etc with no clear direction of which greenhouse. He finally brought me two plants that could be used as a hedge. i selected one and said he was going to return the other to the greenhouses. And then never came back. I waited for him about 20 minutes and got into my truck and started to drive away when I saw him talking to someone. I drove up to him and said you never came back. He said he was helping a customer. I finally lost my cool and said, I am a customer. I started to cry and just left. I was completely humiliated and devalued. This establishment does not accommodate the disabled. It is disorganized and not customer friendly. The plants were all almost all sticks with no or little foliage.

I’ve heard about this place for years from my gardening friends, but did not make it out there until this weekend. Mr. Gossler is absolutely delightful, clearly a plant enthusiast who loves sharing his knowledge. Interesting selection of plants with excellent prices.

Roger has great trees at affordable prices. I’ve ordered online many times this year from Gossler and have yet to be disappointed in the quality. There were a few mix ups where the wrong tree was sent but the fact that Roger will send you pictures of the trees ahead of time helps to decide if you want it or not. With so many other nurseries sending low quality trees it’s nice to see large 1g trees being sold. The packaging did the trees is one of the best in the industry.
