About the Nursery

Ornamental and Seasonal Plant Nursery. Top products: Hanging Baskets, Flowering Perennials, Flowering Annuals, Shrubs, Fertilizers and Horticultural Sprays. French Prairie Gardens, located in the Willamette Valley, is a multi-generational family-owned horticultural operation and agri-tourism destination. Founded in 1987 as a roadside stand, the business has evolved into a comprehensive garden center and working farm. A core strength of their nursery operation is that 95% of the plants and flowers sold in their garden center are propagated and grown on-site within their own greenhouses. Their horticultural offerings include a wide variety of seasonal hanging baskets, flowering perennials, premium annuals, and shrubs, supported by a selection of fertilizers and plant care products. Beyond their nursery, the Pohlschneider family operates a large-scale 500-acre commercial farm producing wheat, clover, hazelnuts, and grass seed. The business integrates its horticultural focus with significant agri-tourism offerings, including a farm market, scratch bakery, espresso bar, and seasonal family events such as pumpkin patches and sunflower festivals. The company primarily targets local homeowners and families seeking both high-quality greenhouse-grown plants and recreational farm-based experiences.

Beautiful and delicious. Stopped here for a quick snack during our trip and I am glad we did. The place is clean, smells fresh, and the lady here is super nice. The coffee and pastries are delicious. I’ll definitely stop here again.

I come to this amazing place every year for a Mother's Day Weekend networking event with the Chehalem Valley Chamber if Commerce. Wonderful hospitality from a genuinely delightful family. Great food, amazing flowers and plants, and just an all-around beautiful place to spend time.
