About the Nursery

Specialty Tropical and Ornamental Nursery. Top products: Succulents, Cacti, Bonsai, Tropical plants, Carnivorous plants. Growing Hobby is a specialty plant nursery that focuses on unique, specimen-quality vegetation, catering to both hobbyists and collectors. Their botanical inventory centers on high-interest categories including succulents, cacti, bonsai, and tropical plants, alongside an niche selection of carnivorous plants. Unlike standard garden centers, the business emphasizes the aesthetic and artistic side of horticulture, offering 'showpiece' plants designed to act as focal points in home environments. In addition to plant retail, the nursery integrates a lifestyle approach to gardening by hosting educational workshops that cover subjects like kokedama, bograrium creation, and horticultural craft. They also sell specialized gardening-related decor and artisanal goods, such as macrame and garden ornaments. Under the ownership of Holly Beaumier, the nursery serves local enthusiasts looking for hard-to-find botanical specimens and hands-on botanical education.

I was trying my best to buy from a local place so that the ma and pa shops would get a fair shot. I will never again shop with this place. Though the lady there was not feeling well we totally didn't have an issue with patiently waiting for our total to be corrected. I was over charged 50 dollars and was told that I world get that refunded back to my account. Only 41 came back into my account. When I called to explain this the lady would not listen to me. She criticized me and said it was simple arithmetic like i couldn't add. It was such a small amount I wasn't willing to argue anymore. I just won't go back. If she would have listened she would have understood that the tax also plays a part. She's the dummy, not me. I'm done with that place for good. Betsy lost a great customer. I spent quite a bit there and I've got almost 2 acres of land to beautify. THERE LOST.

This beautiful plant boutique, located in the State Farmer's Market in Florence, is a plant lovers paradise. They have a wide array of plants to chose from, beautiful bonsai trees, hanging baskets, potted plants and a wide variety of trees. If you want a particular plant or tree, they will probably have it. Inside you’ll find lots of treasures, from pottery and ceramics to jewelry. My wife loves to browse there and we have several plants inside and outside our home. For her very recent birthday, I bought her a beautiful, lush plant in a large, colorful ceramic container. And can’t forget the staff being so awesome, letting you browse yet ready to assist you in your purchase. Go check out Growing Hobby, you will be pleasantly surprised.

I always enjoy visiting the ladies at Growing Hobby. Today it was for String of Pearls but ended up with several other plants, as well. Everything is always healthy & beautiful but the customer service is top notch.
