Stack's Nursery

I’ve shopped at this nursery many times over the past year and have probably spent around $200 on plants here. Their selection is unique, the plants have always been healthy, and I’ve had great experiences, which is why I’m leaving 4 stars instead of a lower rating. Unfortunately, I recently purchased about ½ yard of bulk compost for my raised garden beds. While spreading it, I found numerous contaminants, including sharp metal fragments, hard plastic, plastic twine, and even pieces of glass that the nursery said they believe the landfill thought would break down. I collected about half of a sandwich bag of debris from the compost, and one of the metal pieces sliced my finger while I was working. I called the nursery because my main concern was making them aware of the safety issue so that another customer wouldn’t get hurt. They explained that the compost is supplied by the Charleston landfill, but they weren’t able to offer any assistance and referred me to the supplier instead. I’m planning to contact the supplier as well because I believe they should know about the contamination. My intention isn’t to criticize the nursery unfairly, I genuinely enjoy shopping here and will continue buying plants from them. I just hope they either inspect the bulk compost they receive or make customers aware of where it comes from so issues like this can be addressed before someone else gets injured.

Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff. Super helpful people such as Tristan(spi) and McKayla(spi) are there to answer questions, make solid recommendations, help gather your selections and influence you to come back again for shopping. Plants are healthy, watered and a cut above in quality.

They're expensive, ok selection. Sometimes you will find a unicorn plant.

Great selection. Everyone is always helpful and knowledgeable. My favorite place to buy plants.
