About the Nursery

Ornamental Trees and Shrubs. Top products: trees, shrubs, palms, azaleas. Houston Garden Center is a prominent retail horticultural supplier specializing in a wide range of ornamental landscape plants, with a heavy emphasis on trees, shrubs, palms, and flowering azaleas. Operating as a large-scale garden center, the business serves the Greater Houston area by providing a diverse selection of plant stock suitable for residential and commercial landscaping projects. They maintain a high-volume retail model, frequently offering seasonal discounts and promotional sales to move large inventories of nursery-grown stock. The company caters to both homeowners looking to enhance their personal landscapes and professional landscapers seeking quality nursery material. Their core operations revolve around the direct retail sale of plants and gardening essentials, supported by an online storefront for gift cards and promotional outreach to maintain customer engagement. The business functions as a central hub for regional horticultural needs, focusing on plant varieties that thrive in the specific climate of Southeast Texas.

Good selection of healthy plants. However, the staff is incredibly unfriendly and none of them speak English.

Every employee was rude, no help and lazy. Not friendly or helpful. Get service oriented team members. I spent $150 and would have spent more, but no one would help us on my way to Lowe's.

The staff does not seem to be very knowledgeable about the plants or trees they are selling. When you ask a simple question, such as which shade trees they currently have that grow the fastest, they often seem unsure or appear to be guessing. I understand that many staff members may be there primarily to maintain the plants and the facility, but it would be helpful to have at least one knowledgeable person available who can answer basic customer questions about the products being sold.
