Do you have slug resistant hostas?

Hi Laura! The thicker, wavy-leafed varieties or hostas with a waxy coating (often blue ones) tend to be more slug-resistant. Also, we find that having good mulch helps discourage slugs. Slugs tend to eat decaying materials, so if you remove spent leaves and have other organic matter nearby, they will more likely leave hostas alone. Hope this helps!

Does anyone know a quick save for diseased plants? Every single plant I bought here is dying with brown spots destroying their stems. Have only had the 20 plants for a week and almost all the leaves have fallen off. Plants from other nurseries are thriving but I am worried they will catch the disease

Call them right away and ask. They'll want to know, and they'll likely help better than any of us can. I buy most of my plants from there. I've only had a problem once. Two identical plants, one of them thrived and one didn't. They took the other one back four weeks later with a full refund.

The article on fountains say to add charcoal to help it stay clean. My dog drinks out of our fountain, wondering if using charcoal is bad for him?

Hi Annie, the charcoal in your fountain should not be harmful to your dog. In fact, it may be beneficial as it acts as a filter, but it is best to keep an eye on any abnormal symptoms and ask your vet for a proper answer.
