Sierra Madre Mushrooms Inc

This was my 1st time taking mushrooms to Sierra Madre so I thought I'd share my impression. They are located in a big hangar style warehouse accessible from the very back of the building. It struck me how immense and professionally set up an operation it is. Even though there were only 3 people working at the time I arrived in the late afternoon, they're clearly able to sort, process and package a virtually unlimited volume of fresh/dried wild mushrooms. The guy who came over to weigh my batch could not have been more indifferent. It made me wonder if that was his poker face to justify a critical selection process. But that turned out not to be the case at all. He pulled out a few haggard specimens, quickly weighed the rest and asked me to write my name on a piece of paper. A couple of minutes later, a much nicer, friendlier lady appeared from their office behind me and handed me a check for $37. I never asked what the going rate was for the golden chanterelles that I took in but the payout seemed more than fair to me.

Bad quality half rotten was of time and money!
