About the Farm

Regenerative gourmet mushroom farm. Top products: Gourmet mushrooms, Vermicompost, Biological soil inputs. Lion Farms is a regenerative agricultural operation located in Miami, Florida, specializing in the symbiotic integration of gourmet mushroom cultivation and advanced soil biology. The farm operates as a dual-purpose enterprise: producing fresh, culinary-grade gourmet mushrooms in controlled indoor environments for local distribution while simultaneously anchoring a syntropic food forest designed to build biodiversity and long-term soil health. Their cultivation methodology prioritizes microbial activity and nutrient cycling, utilizing vermicompost and biological inputs to support organic matter development across the site. Beyond direct production, Lion Farms serves as a critical academic hub for agroecology and mycology. The farm functions as a living research site, hosting graduate and undergraduate students from various university programs for hands-on internships and field-based studies. By focusing on real-world applications of fungal cultivation and regenerative land management, Lion Farms addresses the intersection of high-performance food production and sustainable ecosystem science, providing both high-quality produce and empirical data to the local agricultural community.

It's been a pleasure to work with Lion Farms over the past year, and provide them our BAR Biochar that we make in Central Florida. Daphne and her business partner, Jordan, inoculate our BAR Biochar with their vermicompost, making one of the best organic plant growth promoting products I've seen on the market. Peter, the owner, and his team have developed an exceptional incubation hub built on sustainability, innovation, and economics. They offer tours of their facility , and I encourage anyone to reach out and check it out. I personally enjoy driving down there just to get a chance to review all of their projects (mushroom cultivation, compost tea, worms, hemp, floating wetlands... I could go on and on) . We need more regenerative innovators in Florida, and Peter, Daphne, Jordan, and the rest of their growing team are the best to look up to in this category.

Easily one of the best tour or farm experiences I’ve ever had. The whole farm is incredibly beautiful, serene, and so intentionally built out. Peter was an incredible guide and took time to tell us his story and how Lion Farms came together bit by bit. Make sure you ask about the research they are doing on the farm! There are some incredible initiatives and collaborations there. An absolute must if you live in Miami or are visiting!

Peter gave us the best tour we have ever been on. We had the most wholesome, educational, adventurous day. We are so grateful for this day, it was restoring & nurturing. The mushroom facilities are like nothing I’ve ever seen before. I never knew where this tour was going to take us next from rabbits to fish to worms. 11/10 day. I can’t thank Peter and his team enough!!
