Hillcrest Mushroom Farm

Getting to purchase mushrooms from this farm is the highlight of my week! They never disappoint and they are always fresh.

We couldn't find this place. GPS said we had arrived, but no signs around and we assumed were out of business. UPDATE- Will try again!!

We love the colorful, delicious fresh mushrooms we get from Hillcrest Mushroom Farm! We found these wonderful gems at the Elkin Farmer's Market and look forward to getting some each week!! Be sure to stop on Saturday morning to get some!!

These are the best. I get them almost every week. I also get the drops made from their mushrooms. Friendly people too.

Beautiful mushrooms and a friendly customer experience. I found this on Google Maps while virtually exploring Galax and could not pass up the opportunity to visit in person. If you're expecting a greenhouse setup, mushrooms aren't into that sorta thing. This farm is two houses up from the Tastee Freeze. The owner/operator explained everything from inoculation to substrates and from Lion's Mane to Shitake. I believe he said they sell at the Farmer's Markets in Independence and Galax. I was pleasantly surprised by the friendliness and willingness to educate me. And by the way, the mushrooms are soooo tasty! I ate a pound the night I got them home. I will be back! 😁
