If you need it, Steve's has it. The store is clean, bright, and well-organized. The hardware and garden selection is top-notch, but it's also a great place to buy gifts, toys, baby gear, BBQ gear, and flower arrangements. It makes shopping local a pleasure.

I recently purchased 4 lawn chairs. The employee had shown me the side tray, explained that the chairs were wide and sturdy and could hold up to 500 pounds. Because they were on sale, I wasn't allowed to use my coupon. I opened one up after I'd had them at home a few days. Wrong chairs. No side tray. No wide seat. Weight limit was 250. I took all four chairs back. I wanted to swap them out for the product I'd been shown. The employee said those were more expensive than what I'd paid. He was going to charge me $40 more per chair. I showed him the sign on the chair with the price I'd paid. He said that price was wrong, and he pulled the card off that chair. I asked him to put it back so I could take a photo of it. He refused. I ended up getting two replacement chairs (still not the correct ones, but better than the cheapos) and I returned the other 2. It was frustrating, and I felt discouraged that they didn't seem to care that the chair being mis-priced wasn't my fault. I ended up buying two additional chairs at a different store about a mile away.
Went to Ace to get a chainsaw blade tightened, unfortunately was left with no repair and no answers. I went in to get the chain on the chainsaw tightened they do that there and I wait at the counter for like 15 mins. Then an employee slowly walks up and logs onto his computer. So I say hello and that I’m like just looking to get the chain tightened it keeps falling off when I put it on and tighten it. So he goes the guy who does that isn’t here. So I ask if it’s ok can I leave it here for him to fix. Employee then tells me “well I’ve seen him to it’s ton let me try” so I go no I’ve already tried I get it back in and cut something falls back off and I’ve used the tightening knob. Proceeds to go everything I said I already did….. doesn’t work so he is like well the guy is only here a few days a week and I go ok can I leave it for when he’s back and come back to get it. Employee signs “yeah I guess takes down my name and number assuming it’ll be a few days (this was on Tuesday (6/16) before the guy can even look at it” So I call Thurs and the guy I talk with tells me he can’t give me a time frame for it to be fixed and if he was pushed for a timeframe to he’d say at least 4 weeks if not more. So I’m like I’m going to pick it up and he’s like well there’s a bunch of people in before you and I’m not going to give you a time but again maybe 4 weeks or longer so I’m like ok I’ll come get it. I go Friday to get it - stand at the same counter while 4 employees walk past me and say nothing. Manager sees me walks up and is like have you been helped and I’m like no I am just here to pick up my chainsaw so he goes in back comes back out and is like it’s not done I’m sorry and I said yeah I assumed I tell him the while story and he looks me dead in the eye and says I'm so sorry thats not acceptable if you give me the weekend it should be done Monday - these guys don't talk to one another and thats not your fault. Either way, I’ll personally give you a call Monday (6/22) for an update. Needless to say it’s now (6/27) Saturday, no updates no call back. I pick up the chainsaw, no apologies and not fixed. Be better.
They always have what I need and I enjoy the popcorn
I went to the store to purchase a Blackstone griddle, and there was a price discrepancy between the online price and the in-store price. I asked for a manager and spoke to Drake. He was very friendly, helpful and professional. He walked with me to the cashier to ensure that the grill rang up at the correct price which I had seen online. Drake also helped us load the griddle into our vehicle. I’ve worked in retail for over 30 years and this was an amazing display of customer service. Service like this is what keeps customers coming back.
