About the Nursery

Organic edible and native nursery. Top products: native plants, edible plants, water-wise plants, houseplants, organic soil amendments. Established in 2010, North End Organic Nursery serves the Treasure Valley region as a dedicated all-organic garden center and plant nursery. The business focuses on promoting sustainable gardening practices by providing a curated selection of native, edible, and water-wise plants tailored to the local climate. Their inventory includes outdoor nursery stock, indoor houseplants, and a comprehensive range of organic gardening supplies, including pest control products and soil amendments. Beyond plant sales, the nursery functions as a community hub for horticultural education, frequently partnering with organizations like the Snake River Seed Cooperative to offer free public workshops on seed saving and organic cultivation techniques. Catering primarily to local homeowners, the nursery emphasizes eco-friendly gardening solutions and seasonal sales. While the facility also operates an organic coffee shop, its core business identity remains rooted in professional horticultural support and plant retail.

Zero warranty on potted plants. If you bring it home and it dies instantly you're SOL. (Home Depot offers a 1 year warranty on most of their live plants.)

Wide variety of plants, vegetables, fruit trees, supplements and my wife liked the coffee shop inside. Very knowledgeable staff. I am amazed at the variety of soil amendments that they carry. Feather meal - a long term slow release nitrogen source, green sand another amendment, excellent quality of plants, herbs, fruit trees & bushes. Large pre built raised bed containers, pots and planters. Staff is very friendly especially once you have been in a couple of times. Go to for hard to find items, and a ton of garden related gifts as well. Quite the treat

I’m having my backyard completely redesigned and some friends from out-of-town were visiting and wanted to gift me a tree. In advance of their visit, I went to several nurseries, including North End, to look at trees to save us all time when they arrived. I settled on a magnolia variety I found at North End; it was small but North End’s price was reasonable. When my friends arrived the following Monday, I took them to North End where we approached an employee, Greg, who was watering. My experience with Greg was that he was inconvenienced by our first question - where the magnolias were. Once we found them again, he left. My friends paid for the tree that we chose but when I told Greg I might need until Friday to pick it up, he was obviously put out and let me know North End usually only holds sold plants for a couple of days. Fine. I made arrangements to borrow a vehicle that would accommodate the tree and picked it up a couple of days later. But, frankly, North End could hardly have been less helpful. My experience at Far West Landscape the prior week was so much different. There I was twice approached by staff in the field who asked if they could help. One spent quite a bit of time showing me tree options. The tree selection was far greater, but the trees are a bit larger and definitely more expensive. Because my friends were gifting me a tree, I chose the smaller less expensive tree at North End. But if there’s a next time and I’m spending my own money, I know where I’ll go, and it won’t be North End.
