About the Nursery

Specialty Bonsai Tree Nursery. Top products: Bonsai trees, Bonsai soil mixes, Japanese bonsai tools, Bonsai fertilizer, Ceramic bonsai pots. New England Bonsai Gardens, established in 1987, is the largest bonsai nursery on the East Coast, serving both hobbyists and enthusiasts through an extensive retail and online operation. The nursery specializes in the cultivation and curation of a diverse range of bonsai species, including both indoor varieties like Ficus and Dwarf Jade, and outdoor cold-hardy species such as Green Mound Junipers. Their operations involve meticulous daily plant care, including manual watering and horticultural maintenance, ensuring the health and structural integrity of their specimens. Beyond the sale of live plants, the company functions as a comprehensive horticultural supplier, providing specialized substrates, professional-grade Japanese tools, fertilizers, and custom ceramic containers. The business emphasizes education through its Kaikou School of Bonsai, which hosts workshops and provides detailed care guides for species-specific success. They serve a wide demographic, ranging from beginners interested in entry-level trees to advanced collectors seeking specimen-grade material, with nationwide shipping capabilities.

I've visited this place a couple times over the past year or so. Over this time, I got 3x trees which I've been taking care of. Everyone working at this garden seems super knowledgeable and has been able to answer all of my questions. Highly recommended

The customer service was terrible, the staff didn’t seem interested in helping at all. Most of the plants were overpriced and not healthy, nothing worth buying. I totally wasted two hours driving there.
