About the Nursery

Retail Garden Center Nursery. Top products: annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetable starts, garden decor. Established in 1958 by the Porter family, River's Edge Garden Center is a long-standing horticultural retailer based in Framingham, Massachusetts. With over six decades of operation, the center serves as a primary resource for local homeowners and gardening enthusiasts, maintaining a strong community reputation built on personalized service and repeat customer loyalty. The business operates as both a grower and a curated retailer, sourcing much of its inventory from its own production facilities or established local quality growers to ensure plant health and regional suitability. Their core inventory spans a diverse selection of live goods, including annuals, perennials, herbs, and vegetable starters. Beyond live plant material, the garden center provides complementary horticultural products such as planters, garden ornaments, and decorative items. By catering to seasonal demand with extended hours during peak spring and summer months, River's Edge Garden Center functions as a comprehensive destination for residential landscape and garden development.

Fabulous selections of plants at modest prices. Best assortment of culinary herbs, tomatos including heirloom varieties, best vegetables and even an amazing spectrum of floral plants. You have to see it to believe it. Nice staff. Parking is limited.

It's a wonderful place for sure and let's jump to the important part, for a small-scale garden center, their price is actually comparable to larger brands like Home Depot or Lowe, while the plant quality and variety are both significantly better. This is the kind of small business that you never feel ripped off, and it actually makes great financial sense to buy from here. In a world filled with private equity firms, River's Edge is such a breath of fresh air, both figuratively and literally. The Porter family story is also a great short read on their website, and it's so great to see their family business thriving. It's the kind of business that you'd hope to be there forever, and based on the healthy blueberry and other plants in my backyard I got from them last month, I'll support them by keep coming back!

Excellent garden center, they have a huge selection of different plants (many options I wasn’t able to find at other places) and everything is clearly marked. The staff is super friendly and willing to help out or just talk plants!

Any amazing nursery with plants that are fun to add to my garden. Lots of different mint for the deck and unusual colored petunias for the flower boxes. Love to just drop by on my way home to see what's new.
