Beautiful gardens and healthy vegetation. Nice set up, well organized. Staff could use a little help with manners and social skills though.

A great little garden store for supplies.
My first time at Skillings. They haven't fully opened for the season but there were plenty of plants and flowers. Everything looks healthy and we taken care of. Customer service was great. I had questions about a particular plant and was graciously welcomed at the register. I will return.
The staff are so kind and helpful. They really went out of their way and took time to help me find what I was looking for.
I have extensive gardens around my home and I live a roughly 3 minute drive from the Cumberland location so I would love to have a reliable and local option for the massive amounts of perennials, loam and mulch we buy each season. But, the prices at Skillins are 15-25% higher than other garden centers in the area and the customer service is aloof at best. Not to mention the fact that the selection leaves a lot to be desired. I have had somewhat better customer experiences at the Falmouth location although the prices are still exorbitant. Even though the convenience factor plays into the fact that I will still shop there for certain things (propane) or to buy a single specific plant that we might be looking for (if nobody else has it) I will go 20-35 minutes out of my way to go to either Broadway Gardens in Westbrook or S. Portland or O'Donel's in Gorham because the selection, prices and customer service puts Skillins to absolute shame. This review would be 1-star if not for how close this place is to my house.
