About the Nursery

Christmas tree specialty farm. Top products: U-cut Christmas trees, Pre-cut Christmas trees, Wreaths, Roping. Broadview Christmas Tree Farm is a multi-generational horticultural operation located in Highland, Michigan. Established as a homestead in 1849, the property transitioned into Christmas tree production in 1947 under the guidance of Ott and Betty Brian. Since 1972, the business has operated as a dedicated Christmas tree farm, offering customers the ability to select and harvest their own trees or purchase pre-cut specimens. The farm specializes in seasonal forestry and holiday greenery, including the production of wreaths and roping. While the core of their business is tree cultivation, the farm also functions as a rustic event venue from May through October, hosting weddings, graduations, and private gatherings. The site features amenities such as a warming barn, wagon rides, and dedicated parking to support their seasonal retail operations. The farm remains family-operated, relying on multi-generational involvement to maintain its plantation and visitor services.

The ambiance of the place is great. The trees could use work, but overall decent plave. I give them this rating because of the hard work they put into everything so families can have a great experience.

I'm giving it two stars because the vibe was right. Workers were nice. But $80 is really expensive for the most pitiful trees I've ever seen. I cut a tree every year with my brother and his family and this was already our second time going out this year to do this so we didnt really have a choice but to get one because going out for a third time was not an option. Trees are very small, skinny, some dying already. It took a long time just to get the dingy little 5 ft tree we got that was the best we could find. I get it's a family business and this is what they do for a living. I know they had a disease come through and kill all of the blue spruce leaving only white spruce behind. But still. Go someplace else and spend a little more to get a better tree. This was a $40 tree at best that I took home. They also only take cash and had to use their ATM which has a $5 ATM charge 😒. They do have drinks and snacks inside which was cool and like I said, on vibe. But should have been included for this sad little tree.

Poor experience all around. They cut all their biggest and best trees and put them up front which totally takes away from the experience of U cut. The precut still look rough. The workers also couldn’t identify what kind the precut trees were. All of the trees left in the field are very sparse, have dead branches or below your knees in height. Not sure if we came too late in season (I wouldn’t think December 1st would be)
