About the Nursery

Retail indoor plant boutique. Top products: Bonsai trees, Houseplants, Terrarium kits, Plant pots, Home decor. PlantHouse is a specialized retail plant boutique and social experience venue focused on indoor gardening and botanical education. Unlike a traditional outdoor nursery, the business operates as an experiential garden center centered around houseplants, succulents, and tropical varieties. Their core model integrates the sale of plants, ceramics, and home decor with hands-on DIY workshops, including terrarium construction and bonsai tree styling. Targeting recreational gardeners, families, and social groups, PlantHouse provides an immersive environment where customers can purchase indoor plants, utilize a free in-store potting service, and attend ticketed classes for various skill levels. While they offer branded apparel and function as a social hub—often featuring an in-store bar for visitors—their primary horticultural focus remains on the curation, retail, and community engagement surrounding indoor plant culture and botanical design.

The vibe and store was beautiful but the prices were high. Great for new plant parents but not so much for the novice.

Abby and her team brought a succulent terrarium workshop to an event that we had at our office, and they knocked it out of the park. The Women in NARI of the Charlotte, NC chapter of NARI had a great night creating their own terrariums, the PlantHouse team was incredibly helpful and informative and they made it a truly wonderful night. If you've never done one of their workshops, I highly recommend it. It's so much fun.

Went for a cacti terrarium building class and also bought some plants after receiving a discount following the class. The class was too overcrowded and we were all shoulder to shoulder trying to pot cacti and shovel in dirt to these small globes. The terrarium vessels were way too small for the plants you were supposed to get in there. 2 cacti barely fit comfortably but they give you 3 and I had to remove one when I got home because they were all pushed into one another. That wasn’t my big issue though. I bought a $30 large cuddly cacti and only after a week and a half, it has completely succumb to fungal rot. I had not repotted it or watered, only placed it where all my other cacti live. This doesn’t just happen over night. I sent an email and even tried calling the store as I didn’t want this to spread to other inventory. No response. Won’t be getting my business again…

Went to the Mother’s Day terrarium class and it was amazing!! So many choices between succulents and air plants and a great variety of decorations and sized glasses. Will definitely be going back!
