My plant has fungus gnats! What can I do?

First — don’t panic! If you own multiple plants, pests are an inevitability. Even if your plants were entirely pest-free when you brought them home, fungus gnats can slip through window screens and settle in your soil. Fortunately, they’re more of a nuisance than a danger. Our Tula House team is happy to share prevention and treatment tips, and we can also schedule an at-home visit to control pests and give your plants some TLC.

Can your team help me repot a plant?

Absolutely. During your free consultation video chat with a Tula House professional, we can discuss your needs and goals and also get a peek at what we’ll be caring for during our visit. Together, we can identify which plants need repotting, and we may ask you to take some initial measurements. That way we’ll arrive for our care visit with the right new planter and all of the supplies necessary to repot your plant.

How often can your team come to take care of my plants?

A Tula House expert can care for your plants as often as needed. Our initial visit will give us a better idea of what we recommend in terms of a routine service schedule. In some cases, repeat visits may be necessary to successfully control pest infestations or manage new plantings. We are happy to provide tips on performing your own maintenance tasks, or we can arrange frequent visits and take care of the upkeep for you.

How much does your home plant care cost?

Tula House home plant care fees start at $249 per visit, and we’ll consult with you via free video chat ahead of our arrival to discuss your needs. While most routine plant care can be handled during a single visit, if your plants are numerous or have extensive or complex care needs, we may need to revisit or apply additional fees. Rest assured, we’ll always review the time and cost requirements in advance.

Can you deliver my new plants to my house?

We use a service that hand delivers your plant order within Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens. Delivery can be arranged during checkout — visit or contact our Greenpoint plant shop for more details. If you live outside of our hand delivery area, we offer a selection of arid and some small tropical plants that can be shipped via UPS in the continental US.

Hi Kenneth, we can! You can either come to our our Brooklyn plant shop to talk with our plant experts for advice about eradicating house plant pests. While you’re there, pick up a bottle of our specially formulated, all-natural BUGOUT Indoor Pest Solution to control and prevent several of the most common plant pests.

Where should I put my plants?

We currently offer two soil mixes which we create ourselves: one soil specifically blended for tropical plants and the other specifically blended for arid plants. Yes, we do. However, please be aware of potential severe weather conditions. We offer optional hot packs at checkout for a fee to protect your plants from freezing temperatures. Our team closely monitors the weather, and if inclement conditions persist, we may temporarily hold your order, informing you promptly if the delay exceeds five days. Do you ship plants in pots of dirt?

We ship arid plants bare root as this is the most secure way to transport plants to avoid damage. We can also use less packaging, which means less waste! Our tropical plants are shipped in their grow pots with the soil carefully covered and wrapped so as not to fall apart in transit. Each plant sold online includes a tutorial video on how to pot your new plant in the best way possible.
