July 2025. I had dealt with Dan a few times in the past and thought him to a be a nice guy and honest. This instance completely changed my view. I purchased 20 yards of what was supposed to be topsoil for my back yard at a cost of $1000. I looked at a freshly dumped load. It look like good topsoil. I said thats what I want. The following week working around weather, I received the first of two loads. The first load was perfect....exactly what I ordered. The second load came the next day. As I started distributing this load, I kept seeing chards o glass and other garbage. The more I moved the soil, the more glass, etc that came to the surface. I ended up collecting almost a quart ziploack bag of glass chards, broken bottles, mirror chards, a watch battery, lawn chair inserts, etc, etc. I was completely disgusted because this second load, what ended up being spread on the surface was garbage....and full of garbage. And I was concered for my dogs that run the back yard getting cut. The next day I took this bag of glass and garbage to Dan. His comments were...no one else has complained, as if I made this all up? He said the screener should have pulled all this out? NO, topsoil should have had glass and garbage in it to begin with!!! Because rain kept washing me out, I have had to continually rework the soild. I'm still picking up glass!!! I even communicated with the employee that delivered the loads and sent him follow-up pictures! Dan chose to do NOTHING. Didn't offer to give me any money back...nothing! Said he'd make it up to me on the next load. THERE WON'T BE A NEXT LOAD DAN! These are pictures of continued glass after I notified Dan of the issue. 10 yards of what I purchased, costing $500 was GARBAGE Dan! You had plenting of chances to make it right, and chose NOT TOO. No one is honest anymore! Reply to Owner Response: First, This is a LIE.... "We offered him several yards of newly screened clean topsoil at no charge which was rejected" As originally posted, the only offer made to me was "he'd make it up to me on the next load". There is no other load and won't be. And even if this was accurate, the equipment to spread it was rented and returned. Second, The pictures posted are in fact what my topsoil looks like after it was washed out by flooding rain, leaving more glass and garbage visible. You could have made an efort to come look at it for yourself...but did not. Third, You should have posted a picture of the quart bag full of glass and garbage that I handed you. Fourth, When I met with you, the yard was finished. I gave you the garbage to see if you would in fact offer some sort of refund which you did not. I did not and never ask for or expect a full refund. Fifth, I got pissed off after I met with Dan and was washed out again by another storm. And once again and to this day, I am still picking out glass from the topsoil. I communicated with the delivery driver as I had his number. Really nice guy. He brought it to me. I conveyed to him that Dan needs to make this right and provided more pictures of what I was picking up. I waited almost two weeks to write this review giving Dan time to respond to me. Sixth and most important.....TOP SOIL, Good garden top soil, DOES NOT HAVE GLASS OR GARBAGE IN IT! Garbage shouldn't need to be screened. Only garbage soil would need to be screened for garbage. I made it clear in my post that the first 10yrd load was excellant. I still have a dirt back yard waiting for the weather to be more condusive to planting. Come help pick out the glass for youself. Finally, NO, you can never make eveyone happy....especially if you make NO attempt to do so. This is nothing but an excuse attemopting to throw blame back at the customer.
