About the Nursery

Native and climate-adapted nursery. Top products: Native plants, Climate-adapted ornamental plants, Beekeeping equipment, Gardening tools and goods. Berry Creek Garden is a specialty plant nursery and garden center located in McMinnville, Oregon, dedicated to promoting sustainable, ecologically supportive landscapes within the Willamette Valley. The business focuses on providing a curated selection of native and climate-adapted plants that are specifically suited to the region's Mediterranean-style climate, characterized by wet winters and dry summers. By emphasizing species that require minimal irrigation and maintenance, the nursery aims to assist homeowners and gardeners in creating resilient ecosystems that support local pollinators, birds, and beneficial insects. Beyond plant sales, Berry Creek Garden serves as a community hub for horticultural education. The business regularly hosts workshops covering topics such as seasonal floral design, beekeeping, and sustainable gardening practices like fall planting and habitat creation. Their operational philosophy bridges the gap between complex horticultural science and practical, everyday gardening, helping customers build gardens that are both aesthetically pleasing and environmentally beneficial. By partnering with local growers for events and hosting a weekly CSA pick-up site, the nursery fosters a deeper connection between the community and the natural landscape.

I stumbled into the new Berry Creek Garden outside Mac Market with a vague idea of what I wanted for my little backyard and a few pots I already had at home. The owner Lee listened and somehow pulled together the perfect collection of plants that all fit beautifully together. I also found some neat gardening tools and plant varietals that I haven’t seen before in other stores. Berry Creek Garden is such a thoughtful space, and exactly the kind of small business that makes small towns so special!

This charming garden shop has nestled right into just about the perfect little space outside Mac Market. Walking through their pretty blue doors, I immediately spied the most darling little primroses and I snatched up one of each color as who can resist their charm? I then wandered around and spied many native plants along with a few fancier varieties. The owner said their focus is on natives and plants that are specifically suited to our dry Willamette summers. You’re speakin’ my language, girl! I also fell in love with all these gorgeous metal pieces they had - obelisks, feathers, birds, and the most giant detailed flowers. I have already decided I need a couple of those on my next visit. They are in their soft opening right now, but I am already so impressed and have heard tell that they will have a spot indoors as well. Add it to the list of (many!) reasons I love Mac Market so!
