About the Nursery

Ornamental Shrub Nursery. Top products: Azaleas, Outdoor nursery stock. Woodburn Nursery & Azaleas is a multi-generational horticultural operation based in Oregon, established in 1968 by Bob and Jean Fessler. The nursery specializes in the cultivation of azaleas and a broad variety of outdoor nursery stock. With a legacy spanning three generations, the business has evolved from its agricultural roots—which originally included hazelnut, cane berry, and mink farming—to become a dedicated professional nursery operation. The business is deeply integrated into the regional horticultural community, evidenced by their active participation in the Oregon Association of Nurseries and their recognition within the industry. Woodburn Nursery & Azaleas focuses on large-scale plant production, utilizing professional horticultural techniques to supply quality ornamental stock. While the business maintains a strong family-oriented foundation, it operates with a commercial focus, serving as a primary provider of woody ornamentals and landscape plants for the Pacific Northwest market.

There is plenty of room inside the property to maneuver a truck, which is probably the only positive thing about this place. Unfortunately the rest of the experience was frustrating. Loading here takes a very long time and there are constant breaks while drivers are left waiting at the dock. Communication in the yard is also difficult because almost nobody speaks English outside the office. The roads leading to the facility are narrow, so getting in and out with a truck requires extra caution. Overall not a very driver-friendly place.
