About the Nursery

Urban Boutique Plant Shop. Top products: houseplants, floral arrangements, candles, perfumery. The Plant Project is an urban plant retail operation based in Dallas and Houston, Texas, founded by Bree Iman Clarke. Positioned as a community-focused lifestyle brand, the business operates as a boutique plant shop offering a curated selection of indoor plants and floral design services. Beyond retail plant sales, the company provides interior plant styling and maintenance for commercial and residential clients, including retail shops, offices, and boutique hotels. They operate 'Lily,' a mobile plant shop housed in a vintage travel trailer designed for events and pop-up activations. The business maintains a strong focus on community engagement, hosting educational workshops ('Bree Blooms') and social events. Their model integrates horticulture with lifestyle products, including a candle and perfumery bar, and emphasizes cultural inclusivity and community building as central pillars of their mission. The Plant Project targets urban homeowners and commercial clients seeking both botanical decor and an experiential shopping environment.

I was really looking forward to visiting this shop. I intentionally chose it because I wanted to support a Black-owned small business and purchase a special plant for a meaningful purpose. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. From the time my friend and I arrived, we did not feel welcomed. The interactions with the owner left us feeling uncomfortable, and the overall atmosphere made it seem as though we weren't wanted there. We stayed, participated in the event, and each made purchases despite how we felt. After I got home, I discovered that the shop had blocked me on Instagram, even though I had been nothing but polite during my visit. That left me confused and made an already disappointing experience feel even more personal. I reached out privately before writing this review because I wanted to give the business an opportunity to address my concerns. I explained that I had recently lost my son and had come to the shop specifically to find a plant for his memorial shelf. I also shared that I chose this shop because I wanted that purchase to come from a place that felt meaningful. While my loss was acknowledged, the response I received felt focused on policy rather than genuinely addressing my experience or the concerns I raised. I understand businesses have return policies, but kindness, accountability, and customer service matter too. I truly wanted this to be a positive experience, and I'm saddened that it wasn't. I hope this feedback encourages the business to reflect on how customers are made to feel, because that can leave a lasting impression long after a purchase is made.

Okay, The Plant Project officially has me entering my Plant Mom Era! 😂🪴🤎 The moment you walk in, the entire space just pulls you in. It’s beautiful, peaceful, and honestly feels healing. SOOO MANY GEMS INSIDE! You can tell so much love and intention went into creating every part of it. I was also lucky enough to meet the owner, Bree, herself, and could have stayed for HOURS talking with her and hearing her share the love and passion behind The Plant Project & area. 🥹🤎 That alone made the experience even more special! I found the BEST smelling candle from Hue Darling Candle Co. and had to bring it home! Such a beautiful experience, and I will absolutely be back… because clearly, I’m walking into my Plant Mom Era now. 😂🪴✨

All of their plants are meticulously kept! Perfect! And great prices too!!!! “No exotics, only bread and butter” as she said… but Texas Roadhouse bread and butter in my opinion!!!!

We had The Plant Project at our apartment community for a resident event, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish! Bree and her team were incredibly communicative, friendly, and an absolute pleasure to work with. They created a beautiful display that our residents loved, and everything was organized seamlessly. I highly recommend The Plant Project for any event - they truly go above and beyond. Thank you to Bree and the entire team for making our event such a success!

The owner was friendly, knowledgeable and helped me select the perfect plants for my new home. Once acquired, she sprayed and wrapped the plants, and I’ve never had a plant shop do that before! I love her store’s aesthetic, and her commitment to customer service. My new plants are thriving in my new homel! Yall should check her out! ♥️
