I’ve been to just about every nursery in San Antonio, and The Garden Center is by far my go to every time I’m in need of a plant. Wayne and all the staff there are helpful and it’s a wonderful place to go to! Can’t recommend this nursery enough!

The business has a very good variety of plants and trees no doubt. Jim was very helpful as we purchased a beautiful Chinquapin Oak and three Vitex shrubs for our back lawn. The installers arrived on the scheduled day. As the truck drove up to the home, I was in the driveway. An older man and two young men began unloading. The older man had an attitude and began criticizing what he claimed to be excessive mulch at the tree trunks in front lawn. The man is obviously a big authoritarian. The home is new construction and the builder installed all trees, plants, and grass. I got the feeling the boss man just didn't like what he saw. The two young men kept their peace.

This place is a ripoff. STAY AWAY. Take your business to a couple of blocks farther to Rainbow Gardens nursery, or better yet to somewhere that is not privately owned by a nasty jerk. The staff to include the owner are useless and very rude. Helping customers is a chore for them. I went there at 5:40, so it was 20 minutes from closing, and the old man was already closing the register and was not interested in helping me, just in a hurry to close. He lost over $200 of my business. STAY AWAY and go to the other area nurseries.
