About the Nursery

U-Pick Flower and Tree Farm. Top products: Tulips, Sunflowers, Christmas trees, Wreaths, Flower bouquets. Hemingway Hill is a regenerative farm located in Terrell, Texas, that operates as an educational and experiential horticultural destination. The farm specializes in seasonal U-pick experiences, including large-scale tulip fields featuring Dutch bulbs, sunflower patches, and seasonal flower picking. During the winter, the farm serves as a Christmas tree destination, providing fresh-cut Noble and Nordmann firs, as well as hand-tied wreaths and garlands. Beyond its commercial crop offerings, the business functions as an educational hub focused on regenerative agriculture, rainwater harvesting, and biodiversity conservation, particularly through the propagation of pollinator-friendly plants like milkweed for monarch butterflies. The farm targets local families, school groups, and nature enthusiasts, offering hands-on nature classes that cover topics such as beekeeping and bird watching. By integrating agricultural production with public outreach, Hemingway Hill aims to educate the next generation on land stewardship and sustainable farming practices.

A must visit for DFW-area residents who need to touch grass! We went out this morning and had a fabulous time despite a bit of rain. Jennifer, the owner, is so kind and shared lots of her exciting plans for the farm with us. The sunflower fields are magical, and I love the farm’s commitment to organic and sustainable practices. You can really see the impact in the happy bees, bunnies, beetles, and other wildlife enjoying the flowers. We left with so many sunflowers - and some truly fantastic blackberry lemonade. I need that recipe! Definitely wear suitable footwear, especially if it’s rained in the past few days. Those fields get muddy! Bonus: it’s right down the road from Ham Orchards, so you can grab a peach soft serve on the way home!
