Star Nursery is a privately owned garden center chain established in 1983, currently operating 16 locations and 9 decorative rock yards across Southern Nevada, Southern Utah, and Northern Arizona. Serving both residential homeowners and commercial clients, the business focuses on horticultural solutions optimized for desert climates. Their inventory includes a diverse range of trees, shrubs, succulents, and houseplants, complemented by a proprietary brand, Dr. Q’s Garden Products, which offers fertilizers and soil amendments specifically formulated for Southwestern soil conditions. In addition to plant stock, Star Nursery supplies comprehensive landscaping materials, including irrigation hardware, gardening tools, pottery, and bulk hardscaping items such as flagstone, pavers, and decorative rock. The company emphasizes sustainable, water-efficient landscaping practices, advocating for the use of drought-tolerant plants and trees to provide shade and habitat in arid environments. Through its long-standing presence, the business functions as a regional horticultural hub, providing both plant materials and specialized knowledge to support desert-adapted gardening.

The absolute worst customer service I have experienced in years. We tried to have a conversation with the yard manager (Sunset Blvd location). She was extremely rude, angry, and clearly miserable. Constantly interrupting when we were trying to explain our situation. To top it off she actually said "and I'm being nice to you". We have dealt with her on 2 different occasions and both times were very disappointing. I think she would be more suited to rebuilding the forklift transmission and not interacting with the customers. I you want excellent customer service and actually knowledgeable staff I recommend going to Wren Hollow Farm. I will never shop at STAR ever again.

First time in Star Nursery and I will definitely be buying all my plants from this place from here on out. I loved the help of the plants and the prices.

Very terrible customer service. We came in about 4:40 and spent 20 minutes looking and gathering items. When making it to the counter at 5 (because we knew they closed at 5) the cashier Gabrielle was very clearly annoyed that we were there. We asked if the specific soil we had would work for planting herbs and she said “it should be fine”. I then tried to pay with a gift card and she said “I can’t get this to work” and handed back to me. She didn’t offer any solution or anything I should do to “get it to work”. I understand wanting to go home but smacking gum while being rude and treating us like an inconvenience is just unnecessary. I will say the other associate that was there did offer us a bag and said have a good day as we were leaving. Though neither were offered by Gabrielle.

Wasted trip! This morning's emailer said herbs on sale. Opened utah site, it showed "memorial day" on February 13. Alright everyone can goof a post. On arrival, almost every item depleted. Staff was discourteous when I said "where is everything?" If you're going to advertise a sale, have the items in stock!
