Fantastic. Friendly. Please buy your plants at this wonderful local business! They have a wide variety of trees and great prices on healthy perennials.
We went in around 11 am and bought two azaleas, one hydrangea, and a Emperor Japanese Maple Tree. We were able to load up everything but the tree. I let the guy know that I would have to come back to pick up the tree. He asked today, and I said what time do you close? He said 5 pm, and I said yes I'll be back today. He gave me an orange plastic sold tag to wrap around the tree, and he gave us some advice on how to plant and water. He was nice and helpful. He didn't tell me anything about coming back into the office to show a receipt or anything about pickup. I came back around 4:30 pm to pick it up I asked the lady there if she had dolly to load up a tree I bought earlier. She didn't ask for a receipt, but she brought me the dolly. I loaded it up and made it to the corner and I asked the lady if I could park on the other side since I wasn't going to make it through the long narrow walk way. I pulled the truck around to the other side and that is when a guy that works there asked if I had a receipt. I said yes, and got it out and handed it to him. He carefully looked over the recipt and the tree, and then turned to me and looked me up and down and gave me the undeniable look that says I don't trust you. There is no other interpretation of the look and head movement that he gave me. Given there is not a lot of orange sold tags anywhere else and I have given him the receipt, I'm now a little bit upset. I say to him that it is not okay to give someone the once over look up and down if he wants people to come back. He says their policy is go into the office and show the receipt. I said I'm fine with that if someone told me I needed to do that (this is a small business, and there are still plenty of places around where I wouldn't have to do that); however, it is not okay to give someone the 'you're a thief' look after reviewing the receipt and seeing the sold tag. That is when he says I don't trust you. I'm like that is fine if you want to run a business like that but no one's going to come back if you treat them that way. I really want to support local small businesses but at this point I would never go back.

Today was our first experience at Salazar's and I am sorry to say it will be our last. The selection and quality of the merchandise was fantastic, but the customer service was absolutely horrible. While high pressure bothersome sales people are not desirable, we could not find anyone to ask any questions or get suggestions for our project. After we finally located the office the young lady working in there had no knowledge of the inventory, but did at least make an effort to call someone and get answers to specific questions. If the service had just been poor I would be leaving 3 stars. However, the service was actually inexcusably rude. The young man working in the office supposedly was going to help us load our purchases. When my husband went to pick out an Emerald Green Arborvitae, the employee had already set one out. My husband asked for a different tree that was shaped more toward our needs. The young man argued with my husband that they were all the same and refused to pull out the tree we requested, then walked off and went inside, leaving us to pull out and load the rather heavy tree by ourselves. We felt that it was a reasonable expectation to go to such a large landscaping supplier and be able to talk to someone with some level of knowledge who could make recommendations, but this did not happen. Beyond that, being treated disrespectfully when we were making a substantial expenditure is inexcusable. We were excited to discover such an extensive selection of landscaping materials and are so disappointed with how we were treated today.
