About the Nursery

Christmas Tree Farm. Top products: Christmas trees, Chestnuts. Hidden Springs Tree Farm is a multi-generational, family-operated Christmas tree farm located in Atascadero, California. With a history spanning 60 years, the farm has evolved from a single-lot operation to a five-lot establishment managed by the third and fourth generations of the founding family. The farm specializes in providing a traditional 'choose-and-cut' experience for the local community, allowing customers to hike the acreage and harvest their own holiday trees. Their agricultural operations focus on maintaining a variety of conifers suitable for the Christmas season. Beyond tree cultivation, the farm offers secondary seasonal products such as homegrown chestnuts and maintains an on-site hospitality component through an Airbnb rental. The business serves as a community landmark, emphasizing the traditional holiday experience, hands-on farming education, and family-oriented outdoor activities. Their operational model relies on seasonal retail traffic during the late autumn and winter months, catering primarily to local homeowners seeking authentic holiday traditions.

Been coming to the Hidden Springs tree farm for many, many years now and it’s one of our favorite traditions as a family. If you want to feel the Christmas spirit and receive warm customer service from a family knowledgeable about trees, then pay them a visit next holiday season. Thank you Hidden Springs, we love our tree!

We had such a great experience here. If you’re looking for a picture-perfect tree with zero effort, this might not be your spot—but if you want a real tree-farm experience, this place delivers. We loved spending time together as a family hunting for our trees and ended up finding two great Monterey pines. Are they flawless? No—and that’s exactly the charm. They have personality, and we love them even more because we found them together. The staff was incredibly friendly, prices were fair, and the whole experience felt relaxed and fun. We’ll definitely be back. 🎄

We went on the second day of being opened and could not find any Douglas fir left and we were stunned at the sticker price of $300 for many trees. We liked our tree we got but it wasn’t what we came for. We saw very few tagged trees of any kind after walking around for 30 mins. Not the experience we were looking for. We have been to other tree farms where any tree is up for grabs and they are all the same price big or small for less than $100.
