NC mango experiment. We purchased three Keitt mango trees from Guacalina in the spring of 2024 and shipped them to our home near Charlotte. We surprisingly had a second flowering on one of the trees last year and had a very late crop of 1.5-2 pound mangoes. The first winter with them has been interesting as we try to get them established with space heaters in raised beds. With the space heaters turned up high the trees were a bit confused as it was warm enough that they started flowering in late December! A subsequent cold spell in the 20s did result in a few frost bitten branches despite the space heaters but overall it appears they survived it.

We met Carlos last month at his location in Homestead. He took us around on a golf cart and explained all the fruits and we tried many. He was wonderful and helped us select the right fruit trees for our house. He also gave us tips on care and even looked at our existing trees when he delivered the trees we bought, and gave us pointers to increase production. Very professional and knowledgeable. We recommend using him to buy your own trees.
