It pains me to write this review because I’ve used Williams Plant Nursery as my go-to nursery since 2006. They’ve always had a strong reputation, a large inventory on hand, and for the most part the customer service has been good. There’s a reason so many landscape companies in Jacksonville use them. But after my last few experiences, I can no longer continue doing business here. Mistakes happen — I understand that better than most because I’ve been in business a long time myself. However, when you’re dealing with over $5,000 in orders, repeated issues with wrong products, delivery problems, and delays that prevent you from completing jobs on schedule for your customers, it becomes more than just a simple mistake. It directly impacts your reputation and livelihood. What disappointed me most was not just the errors themselves, but how quickly the situation shifted into feeling like the blame was being pushed back onto me instead of accountability being taken. After years of loyalty and spending significant money here, I honestly never expected that. My last three purchases were not small orders, and each one left me more frustrated than the last. Is Williams worth visiting for plants and landscaping materials? Yes. They carry a lot of inventory and they do have knowledgeable staff. But at the end of the day, there’s nothing especially unique being offered here that you can’t source elsewhere. Most of the inventory is standard commercial-grade plant material that many nurseries can order from the same suppliers. If you’re willing to spend a little time researching online or working directly with growers, you can often get exactly what you want for less money and with fewer headaches. This review alone won’t make or break them, and I’m sure they’ll continue doing business because of their name and long-standing reputation. But for anyone reading this, understand that consistency matters. Unfortunately, my experience over the last several orders showed me that loyalty and customer relationships may not matter as much as I once believed they did here. After nearly two decades of doing business with Williams, I will not be returning ever. Took me too long to get where I am in this business.
