Tropiflora is a historically significant horticultural business recognized as Florida's oldest bromeliad nursery and a world-leading source for a diverse variety of air plants (Tillandsia). The nursery specializes in the cultivation and sale of a vast array of epiphytic plants, including bromeliads, succulents, and other tropical species. Their operations extend beyond plant sales to include a professional line of horticultural supplies, such as specialized water-soluble fertilizers designed for epiphytes, controlled-release fertilizers, sustainable mounting cork, and high-quality cedar wood baskets. Tropiflora serves a broad clientele, ranging from private plant collectors and hobbyist homeowners to professional landscapers and nursery growers. Their growing techniques emphasize health and longevity, utilizing professional-grade substrates like mesquite charcoal and expanded perlite to ensure optimal drainage and aeration. While the nursery is currently transitioning toward closure, their legacy is defined by expert botanical knowledge, rare species collection, and the distribution of specialized materials essential for the successful culture of tropical and exotic plant collections.

The staff was exuberantly friendly and I hope to come back before closing in October. Pretty magical place, I’m excited to watch my new babies grow. 💚 Also kudos to the gal that runs the social media aspect for them, she and the team were able to relay very helpful information and seemed to enjoy being helpful every time I had questions over the years. I am wishing for hopeful opportunities for the Tropiflora company and the staff and everyone involved. 🌿

They still have a lot of hurricane damage and don't allow customers in most of the air plant growing greenhouses because they are make shift. A large bromeliad, non air plant (tillandsia) type, greenhouse is open. But they have more air plants than most stores set out on display and will get whatever you want, if you know what you are looking for specifically. Prices were good compared to getting them from retail resellers in the Midwest where we are from. Not being able to go thorough the greenhouses was disappointing but understandable. The master grower, Veronica, was very helpful and her knowledge sharing pushed my rating to 5 stars. Once they get the other greenhouses open it'd be 6 stars, if that were possible.

Poped in yesterday looking for some air plants to attach to an uprooted tree in my yard. I went into the office asking for advice on varieties and they hooked me up with Anthony who was so knowledgeable and generous with his time. He gave me some suggestions and them let me go shop. After I checked out with just a few plants he gave me a complete demo on how to properly attach them to the tree. The owner was so nice to my family and kept them entertained while I shopped and learned. Just a great experience.
